The Consumer Protection Division of Eastman Meyler, PC. is devoted to helping stop abusive creditors and debt collectors from harassing consumers and violating their rights.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) prohibits debt collectors from using abusive, unfair, or deceptive practices to collect from you.  Certain state-specific laws provide similar protections with respect to first-party creditors as well.  Often times, the tactics of collectors and creditors also violate the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
